Useful console commands

In 1.8 there is a new command/game mode spectator. It allows you to switch to observer mode, in which the player freely moves around the world and does not affect him in any way. Items cannot be used in this mode. In addition, the observer is invisible to all but other observers. By right-clicking on any creature, you can switch to the view from its face. For some creatures, for example, for spiders and Enderwalkers, special shaders have been created that significantly change the game graphics.

In addition, the @e entity selector, a command for setting world/world border boundaries, and many other features were introduced that greatly simplified the creation of maps and server configuration.

New blocks and items

A variety of decorative blocks have been added to the game to add variety to the buildings. In Minecraft 1.8.9, the following blocks became available to players:

The rabbit is interesting in that it became the second mob in the game with various colour options (the first were horses). Summon eggs have also been added for all-new creatures.

Other changes

One of the most notable innovations has been the addition of world borders. Now, without third-party mods, it is impossible to get to distant lands, in which there are world generation errors and an increased load on the processor. With the new command/world border, the player can independently determine the location of the border, but by default, it is set at a distance of 30 million blocks from the spawn point.

In addition, the AI ​​of most mobs has been improved to behave more naturally. The enchanting and trading system has also been redesigned. This version is also known for the fact that it was in it that the Alex model was introduced. Another reason to download Minecraft 1.8.9 is to significantly improve performance. Deep changes have been made to the rendering of the game world and the generation of chunks, which significantly increased the FPS in the game.
